Root Beer Cupcakes

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
6 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
1 cup milk
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, at room temperature
2 tablespoons root beer extract

So I found this recipe on the internet and I had to give it a try. You mix the milk and the root beer extract together in a seperate bowl, then cream the butter and sugar in a larger bowl. Then you add the eggs, followed by the dry ingredients to the butter/sugar. Finally, you add the milk and stir everything until it's a smooth batter. You pour that into a cupcake pan and bake it for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees and you've got some cupcakes.

I made a basic frosting with some milk, powdered sugar, and a little more of the root beer extract to go with them. The original recipe calls for them to be served plain with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

The end result is interesting. It definitely tastes like root beer. I think they bother me a little because they look, based on the color and what not, like they should have a chocolate taste, and there's absolutely none of that.
